Article 8: First cassettes at the carpenter's

In the last week of October, we start making the cassettes. On Friday, we spend a day with Matthéo and Martina at Christophe’s, our carpenter, to see how the cassettes are built.

It is instructive. We had never seen the process in detail before. Seeing how the pieces of wood fit together, how it takes shape, helps us understand. Christophe explains each step and the importance of precision.

The weather is lovely, one of those perfect autumn days to get started. And we quickly realise that the quality of the cassettes will be decisive for what follows. Every dimension, every angle has to be right.
