Article 32: Earth floor and technical networks

Earth floor and technical networks

April was marked by an important step: preparing the floor. After laying battens over the whole floor area, we sieved and spread about 18 wheelbarrows of earth. This layer of earth, which will act as thermal mass, will now be compacted and must dry before we can close the floor and lay the underfloor heating.

At the same time, the volunteers took over the interior earth plasters. Several people took turns on Fridays and Saturdays to make progress on the walls. The work is well under way.

On the technical side, activity was intense. It was essential to install all the networks that had to run through the ducts before the floor was closed. So we laid the waste pipes and the first pipes for the solar thermal system. The photovoltaic (PV) system is also taking shape, pending the final wiring.

Thank you to everyone who took part in these working weekends. The schedule is being kept, which lets us move on to the next stage with peace of mind.
