Article 14: Preparing for the lift

Happy New Year 2025! After the holidays, the site starts up again.

Before the lift

Just before Christmas, during the break, we completed several important jobs. The pipes and the water and electricity connections were laid between the two houses, towards the rainwater tank and the well. The service shaft of the West house was also poured.

For the East house, this work still has to be done, but the ground is too wet at the moment.

The oak beams

Christophe has put together the structure that will support the house: oak beams. It is beautiful work.

Ready for the lift

Most important of all: everything is now ready to lift the West house, the complete structure that will become our home.

Plan for the coming days

This week, the floor cassettes will be laid and filled with straw. At the same time, the walls have to be moved to the car park so that they are ready for lifting the following week.

In a few weeks, the house will be assembled. The excitement is building.
